Make him a romantic picnic

Have a romantic picnic this summer

Why not treat your man to a nice romantic picnic?
The weather is perfect for it at the moment...
Just make sure you pack in some cold beers!

How to prepare the perfect Romantic Picnic

What will you need?

A cool box or picnic hamper
2 plates
2 cups
2 sets of cutlery
Your favourite food and drinks

Make sure if you have a cool box that you freeze the ice packs the day before you plan your picnic, then you can be ready to go in the morning.
Try and keep it a secret from your partner and surprise him with your picnic plans when he wakes up.

If you pack in food like sausage rolls and crisps, along with your sandwiches, then it cuts down the amount of preparation you will have to do in the morning.
If you're feeling adventurous, why not cook up some chicken thighs/drumsticks with a marinade? They take 25-35 minutes in the oven and are delicious cold.

Strawberries are a perfect picnic pudding and are romantic too. If you're feeling really romantic then grab a bottle of champagne and have strawberries and champagne for dessert. If not, then grab some cream - it's almost as good!

Now you need to plan a location.

Do you fancy going somewhere quiet or somewhere with things to do?
Many popular attractions in the UK allow you to take picnics with you, although you need to bear in mind that you'll have to carry it around with you. A theme park may not be the best plan!
National Trust properties often allow you to picnic in their (usually) sizable grounds, and this is free if you're a National Trust member.
If you fancy somewhere quiet then take a drive out in the country and see where you can find. There are lots of secluded picnic spots around, or you could have your picnic in a field if you don't mind the risk of an angry farmer coming after you!

It's worth picking up a foam backed picnic mat if you don't have one. They are under £10 and you can get them from the major supermarkets. They are comfortable and stop you from getting grass in your shorts.

One final thing, assuming the British weather is being good to you, don't forget the sun cream!
